Beginning January 23, construction will begin at the W 14th Street/Abbey Avenue exit ramp from I-90 west and there will be a temporary closure of the W 14th portion of the ramp. The work on the W 14th Street ramp is expected to last 30 to 60 days, depending on weather. Motorists will be able to use the Abbey loop ramp while the W 14th ramp is closed.

Access to W 14th is easy with a right turn onto Abbey followed by a quick right onto W 14th.

Once the W 14th ramp is ready – most likely in March – traffic will again be able to use the W 14th ramp and the Abbey loop ramp will be closed for demolition. Construction of the main bridge piers and the new Abbey loop ramp will continue through 2012 and into 2013. Detour signage will be used to direct motorists around these closures.

Remember: It’s still very easy to get into Tremont via Abbey or W 14th Street.  Innerbelt Bridge Stakeholders will keep you updated as changes happen – just make sure to log-on to their website at www.Innerbelt.org.
