Cleveland APL is desperately seeking homes for both cats and dogs

Not only is October Adopt a Shelter Dog Month but this weekend is also Sweetest Day! But this time, we’re not only celebrating, we’re PLEADING!!!

While our last two events helped us to get many more animals adopted than usual, it wasn’t enough to free up enough cage space to bring in all the animals who need our help. And, we’re also trying to empty our cages so we can make facility improvements that will help us to provide even better care for our animals. To make this happen, we’re extending our hours and reducing our adoption fees for cats and dogs.

This Friday, October 14th from 11 am – 8 pm and Saturday October 15th, from 10 am – 5 pm, the Cleveland APL will be open for adoptions. Adoption fees will be COMPLETELY WAIVED for all cats 1 year old and up and will be $20 for cats younger than 1 year old. Adoption fees for dogs 1 year old and up will be $50.00. (Regular adoption fees are $95 for kittens, $45 for adult cats, and $85 for adult dogs).

“We’re just desperate for people to come to the Cleveland APL and adopt this weekend. We’re so serious about it we’re completely waiving the adoption fee for adult cats and dramatically reducing our kitten adoption fees. If you want a kitten, now is the time as the number we have starts to decrease during the colder months ahead. And we didn’t want to leave our phenomenal dogs out during Adopt a Shelter Dog month, so this Friday and Saturday only, we’re reducing their adoption fees, too. PLEASE join us … we’re committed to being a “no time limit” shelter but that means we need wonderful people to adopt … every day of the week!”

All dogs and cats are spayed or neutered, tested for heartworm or FeLV/FIV, have received age-appropriate vaccinations and treatment of worms and fleas, and come with helpful species-specific animal care information, a free starter bag of Hill’s Science Diet® pet food, 30 days of free ShelterCare pet health insurance, and a free initial veterinary exam.
